    Description

    This alaea salt has been cold smoked for 12 hours using koa wood. Koa is the traditional wood used in kalua pork. The 6oz package is enough to cook two or three entire pork shoulders -- and it can be done completely in a slow cooker this way.
    The koa smoke flavor is intense, but not overpowering. A little goes a long, long way. Use anywhere you want smoke flavor without firing up a barbecue. Great on eggs!
    Alaea is an ideal salt for smoking -- the porous texture absorbs more smoke flavor than most varieties. During the smoking process, the normally pink salt becomes purple.
