    Description

    "NEW BRUNSWICK" MicroFerm Fermentor.
The following part numbers apply: MF-114, M1097-2000, 58214.
Used, but generally in EXCELLENT condition.  CLEAN (inside & out)!
This is a very nice unit retired from research lab at major university.  Appears to have been used very little.  Is in remarkably GREAT shape for its age (possibly a year 2000 model based on part #)?
Seems to be an "old-school" analog instrument without computer boards or chips - should be very easy to diagnose and repair any problems.
I have inspected this to the best of my ability and it seems to be in Very Good working order with a few minor exceptions.  Glass pot (original) is in excellent condition!  Unit powers-up, and mixer/stirrer blade spins, and responds to speed dial (speed indicator meter works).  Water heater works (lower inside rear - see photo).  Water pump spins.  Seems that one of the air heater flexible heater bands may be bad (the IN side) - this would be an easy fix.  The lamp for cooling water comes on when switch is turned, but then goes off - pump is still turning, so I think it is waiting for water sensor to indicate need.  The peristaltic pump on front of unit does not spin when turned on - don't know if it is waiting for some signal (this should also be an easy repair, if required, or by-pass).  Chart recorder not tested.
There is no other obvious damage or defects, other than a few very minor cosmetic blemishes (tape residue, scratches, etc) on the outside.  Looks almost new on inside.  There is a probably a gasket between the glass pot and lid that likely needs replacing.
Will likely need some additional parts to function (thermocouple, sensors, wires, etc.
Glass chamber is approximately 17" tall and 9" diameter.  Overall dimensions are 35" high by 24" x 24".  Weight approximately 250#.
